ROUTE DESCRIPTION
FROM HOEDSPRUIT:
1. Coming from Ohrigstad: Keep on with this road straight through Hoedspruit and cross the railway line. 2. Cross the road marked “Phalaborwa” left and “Bosbokrand” to your right. You are now on the road marked “Military road”. 3. Turn left at the junction with the road marked “Drakensig” left and “Lugmag basis” right. 4. Turn right on to the dirt road approx. 100m after the junction. Here you will find the first road sign marked “Struwig Eko-Reservaat”. Keep on this road for approx. 40km all the way to Struwig. 5. There are “Struwig Eko-Reservaat” road signs all the way along this route. 6. Keep left at the fork. 7. Cross the first railway track and follow the road next to the second railway line. 8. After +/- 13km you will reach the “Balule” gate. (Manned 24h a day). 9. Follow the road which crosses the railway track twice. (Clearly marked with signs.) 10. After crossing the railway line the second time, follow the road leading to the right away from the railway track at the sign. (+/- 800m). 11. Follow this road for +/- 7km to “Oewer” on Struwig Eco-Reserve. 12. Please note that this road can take up to one and a half hours to travel. It is not advisable to travel this road at night, because of the presence of wild animals |
